Four Kenyans Starve to Death While Fasting to ‘Meet Jesus’
Four people starved to death in Kilifi County after they were allegedly instructed by a pastor to fast in readiness for the imminent end of the world.
The victims, who are said to be members of controversial Pastor Paul Mackenzie’s Good News International Church, died after going for several days without food and water. Police said the victims had been told to fast to avoid “apocalyptic damnation.”
Police officers acting on a tip-off on Thursday visited the scene in Magarini where they managed to rescue 15 people, including four who were emaciated and in critical condition.
The four died before reaching the hospital. Their bodies were taken to Malindi sub-county hospital mortuary pending identification and autopsy.
The other 11 people, among them two minors, are admitted to Malindi sub-county hospital.
"The ignorant citizens are starving to death in pretext to meet Jesus after being brainwashed by a suspect, one Paul Makenzie Nthenge a pastor of Good News International Church'' reads a report filed at Langobaya police station.
Police also discovered a mass shallow grave at Shakahola Forest in Langobaya, Malindi.
"The police were unable to conduct any further activity at the mass grave because of the hostile residents in the forest believed to be the suspect's followers'' the report adds.
Last month, Pastor Mackenzie was arrested for the deaths of two boys who are believed to have died of starvation. Judge Olga Onalo of Malindi High Court granted him a Sh10,000 bail pending investigation.
The court is yet to open his case since government pathologists and officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations are yet to exhume the bodies.

This fake pastor is serial killer,No doubt.He had to disguise himself with religion to avoid detection & get easy access his victims..
Very, Very sad.It is very sad that these individials could not wisely use the brain the creator endowed them with.This Mackenzie guy should be taken for mental evaluation first...But what does that tell you about his followers?Are they really sound mentally?
Blind faith is very dangerous.Always question.And there lies the problem with the two big religions,Christianity and Islam.Muslims will tell you that the Koran commands the believers to seek knowledge,but when you ask why the koran tells muslims to kill non believer/christians till they profess Allah is God,they have no clear answer.And ofcourse christianity has its own hard questions that cannot be answered convincingly-like why does God allow innocent children who are sinless to suffer and die...Pretty much the two religions struggle with such questions,and dont like curious minds like mine pestering them with such questions.They like believers who dont question.
There have been so many predictions world over as to when the world would end,and all have come and passed uneventfully.What these tells me is that all the prognosticators have been fake preachers. All are Just charismatic crooks preying on people's fears, weaknesses,and desire to find themselves(LOST SOULS).
Unfortunately, these terrible news is not going to deter people.All I ask of them is to question,and question till they are satisfied that the responses give would make sense to any 'normal' person.Dont follow blindly.If someone tells you that they are speaking for God,its time to raise you antenae.
