Gilbert began his career at Kenya Breweries before joining the Kenya Post Office, where he worked until his retirement. His career spanned a period when postal services were an important part of Kenya’s communications infrastructure, connecting people and communities across the country.

Away from work, he was a passionate football supporter, with a particular loyalty to Gor Mahia, one of Kenya’s most successful and widely supported clubs. His love for the team remained one of his defining personal interests. In a tribute, his family expressed their grief while reflecting on the memories and values he had left behind.

“Dad, our hearts ache, but we will forever treasure your memory and the place you hold in our family. You are deeply loved and will be dearly missed. Rest peacefully,” the family said.

As relatives and friends mourn his passing, Gilbert is remembered as a devoted father, trusted friend and respected family elder.
