Suppose the community raises $24K. That is 2.4 million Kenyan shillings or thereabout. Should the organizing committee use some of that money to bury him here (US) and give/pass the balance (2 million or so) to the ailing mother for upkeep?. This is a slippery slope but may be we should rethink how we honor the dead and the living. The 24 hrs Islam rule (e.g. case of Yussuf Haji and Simon Nyachae) was very telling. We might be burring alot of resources.

There is no difference burying someone here or back home..here it's even more expensive grave is 5k$,all that workmanship including transportation, tractors, labour, morgue escort, back actors are paid...it comes to approximately 20k$..

One time folks are echoing what I have stood for, for a long time.
It doesn't make any sense spending millions to bury one leaving their families still struggling. It pains to see us doing all these contributions without any game plan of investing or helping folks back home invest after their loved ones are dead.
    LIFE GOES ON AFTER DYING.
