Kenyan Man Arrested for Raping a 70-Year-Old Woman in Phoenix, Arizona
Brian Kibiwot Chuchuney,30, is now facing a litany of felony charges after allegedly attacking and sexually assaulting a 70-year-old woman working at the front desk of an upscale apartment building in downtown Phoenix, Arizona.
Around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, as stated in legal records, an alarming event unfolded. Chuchuney approached the window of the Fourth Street complex near Jefferson Street and knocked. Seizing the opportunity presented by a misjudgment that he resided in the building, the victim granted him access. Upon entering, Chuchuney proceeded to ask a series of seemingly harmless inquiries, including his need to utilize the restroom and fetch water.
Compelled by a recent incident where she faced trouble for denying building access to a resident, the victim agreed and went to get water for Chuchuney. However, the situation took a sinister turn as he followed her, attacked her from behind, and sexually assaulted her. Despite her courageous resistance, Chuchuney overpowered her, dragging her into a nearby storage room where he reportedly raped her.
The victim's loud screams for help ultimately thwarted the assailant, prompting him to flee the scene, leaving behind the woman's pants and underwear, which he had forcibly taken. Law enforcement swiftly responded, initiating a short pursuit that led to Chuchuney's apprehension. Upon arrest, he vehemently denied any involvement in the heinous act.
Chuchuney now faces a barrage of charges, including three counts of sexual assault, one count of sexual abuse, one count of kidnapping, one count of aggravated assault, two counts of assault, and one count of theft. Court records reveal that the accused is homeless and carries a history of "several" previous arrests.
This unsettling event brings attention to the susceptibility of individuals in public positions, revealing the pressing requirement for improved security measures and community awareness. As the legal proceedings progress, the community remains tense, struggling to cope with the consequences of this savage assault.

There will be many victims in this man's crime. His people thought by him relocating to the US would open up many good economic opportunities that would also benefit them financially. He probably developed mental illness along the way and lost the ability to know right from wrong, good or bad and eventually became just another nameless, faceless, hopeless and homeless black man roaming the streets of Phoenix with a long criminal record. In the meantime, he lost contact with his people and they do not know whether he is alive or dead. Now they will know because the odds of him surviving a month in prison are stacked against him. My people in this country, count your blessings if you have a job, a sound mind, a family, and clean record.
