Reports indicate that Hamilton and his team arrived at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi on Sunday aboard two private jets.

Hamilton, who drives for Mercedes, is expected to visit the Maasai Mara Game Reserve to witness the annual Great Migration where more than 1.5 million wildebeests migrate in an enormous loop every year, traveling 800 kilometers from Serengeti in Tanzania to Maasai Mara in Kenya in search of pastures and water.

Hamilton, 37, has won a joint-record seven World Drivers' Championship titles and holds the records for the most wins, pole positions, and podium finishes, among others.

He was listed in the 2020 issue of Time as one of the 100 most influential people globally and was knighted in the 2021 New Year Queen Honors in recognition of a glittering career in Formula One.

He is the latest sports icon to tour Kenya in recent months after former Cameroon football star Samuel Eto’o, who was in Malindi in April.

Hamilton had been in Namibia before flying to Kenya.

“Could not think of a better place to spend this time off. Thank you, Namibia, off to the next stop,” he tweeted on Sunday.
